“If you realised how powerful thoughts are, you’d never think a negative thought again.” – Peace Pilgrim.
“What voices,” I hear you say, “I don’t hear voices!” Consider for a moment that that could have been one of those many voices. Are these voices or thoughts all ours? Identifying with them too closely or following the most extreme can be a dangerous business. Where are they taking you? Do they have a mind of their own? It is time to stand back and become the observer and examine each one. Will it take you where you’d like to go? Is it worth checking out to see what kind of fruit it could grow? Would following it hasten an already downward spiral speeding to a future railroad crash or could it lift up, strengthen, inspire, and move you onwards and upwards towards your desires and dreams?
No, you can’t choose all your thoughts, but you can choose to stop the ones you don’t like from nesting in your hair! Shoo them off like you would pigeons coming to eat the newly growing seeds in your garden. Then build a net of belief, over those freshly growing shoots to protect them from any past habitual fat birds that would seek to devour them and you.
